MTV Roadies 5.0

I will first tell you what comes to my mind when i think of MTV roadies…
Raghuram , Ashutosh, Rannvijay…
Raghuram for his sheer guts and who-gives-it-a-damn attitude.I ve never seen nybody so arrogant and demanding ever before.okay Raghuram is the executive
producer of MTV roadies and was also one of the judges during the roadies auditions.Ashutosh is one of the roadies who is known by the name ‘ashu’ who hails from Saharanpur and who talks non-stop.He is lanky and has got average looks…ok maybe good looks.He is the ‘Tall,Lean and Mean’ of MTV Roadies 5.0. Rannvijay is the VJ who hosts the MTV Roadies show, who was a roadie himself.He looks very good, well-built body and the apple of every girl’s eye

MTV Roadies Auditions – I wanted to write this blog long before.Atlast im writing it today.The Auditions for MTV Rodies 5.0 was the ultimate ‘bheja fry’.The two judges were Nikhil Chinappa and Raghuram,who did most of the talking. sorry, not talking, i would rather say abusing,chiding etc.,Some of the episodes were really interesting like the blind-guy episode. Never knew nikhil was an architect.The kind of questions they asked,esp raghuram, where did he get them from?Had it come from his brain, i must say that his brain must be preserved in a museum and analysed by the scientists.How on the earth could he come up with such questions.

Now the episodes are going on…already many have been eliminated.In roadies 5.0, u get to see more of drama rather than any road.u c more of babes and very less of bikes.more of bitching rather than any brains.The proof being the GK round in one of the episodes in which the female contestants, except one,nobody else knew the name of the president of india. A kid would answer such questions.

Roadies 5.0 is all about master minding the eliminations,who is going around with whom and much more crap…The auditions promised to give extreme entertainment,but sadly the episodes that followed do not seem to keep up the hype the auditions created.

Jodha Akbar………im entranced

What do i say about this movie? a beautiful movie perhaps….
Eventhough the movie is a weeeee bit too long and you tend to get restless at times, you come out feeling good.
yes good …. i had never assumed Akbar to be this way..like how he was portrayed in the movie. Or rather never gave a thought about Akbar other than cursing him for having made my history lessons tougher with so many battles and the dates on which they were fought to be remembered.But after watching this movie, i kind of developed a never-before respect and im in awe of his personality.A powerful king who is very serious of what he wants for his kingdom is just a normal person like anybody else.how he longs to win the love of Jodha,the way he is intrigued and inturn respects other cultures and religion.

One of my favourite scenes from the movie, would be the scene wherein, Akbar is in his court and his subordinates complain of the Hindu rituals taking place inside the muslim territory and exactly at that time Jodha starts her bhajans…I love the next few seconds of the movie which keeps on playing in my head over and over again.The way she teaches him to pray, the way he keeps the sindoor on Jodha’s forehead.I guess all these are not facts , but it was so nice to see. Though the scenes may have been weaved out of imagination,i loved them. I even liked the scene towards the end of “khawaja mere khwaja” song, where Akbar dances in a trance.

There can be so much that can be said about this movie…Its music requires a separate,exclusive blog.so im not going to say anything about it now.

The jewellery and costumes were exquisite.I still cant forget some of the clothes and jewellery.The actors, the direction,the camerawork and what not… very good performances from all quarters, from behind the camera, from the subjects of the camera …. I still don’t know if the respect for Akbar, came from his deeds or if its because of Hrithik’s charm.
I still have so much to say… but it will have to wait…

Taare Zameen Par ……..a review

According to me, it comes under the category-1 “tear-dropping” movie.Full points to the little guy who acts as Ishaan Avasti(darsheel safary).A very commendable performance.

The first half of the movie shows Ishaan and his problem in being a good-disciplined-parents-and-teachers-abiding child.
The second half of the movie shows how Nikumb(Aamir khan) helps Ishaan to learn and encourages his passion for painting.Towards the end, make sure you have atleast a dozen tissues.Everybody starts crying towards the end and even if u r a hard-to-crack, i-dont-give-a-damned soul, you will be moved.The message conveyed through this movie is “parents should not have expections for their children beyond their capability”.
As the film says, every child is indeed special.

Water…. a poignant movie

The movie starts on a sad note. The father informs his 8 yr old daughter that her husband is dead and that she has become a widow.The child is so young that she does not even remember getting married.They are deprieved of everything,from interaction to the outside world to dignity,to freedom,to food.In short,they are deprieved of a life.They are treated as an outcast for no fault of theirs.The movie goes on to show the plight of widows in pre-independence India, their day-to-day activities,their hierarchy inside the Widow’s house,their sufferings for a survival.The little girl,Chuyia,gets caught in this Hell and how she survives there is the story.Lisa ray plays an inmate who is sent to service the “clients” and she proves to be their only source of income.John has a small role but an important role.He wishes to marry Lisa Ray much against his mother’s wish.Seema Biswas also plays the role of a widow, who is daring and humane and whose performance doesnt go unnoticed.The movie highlights the practises of yester years which have become redundant in todays modern world but are still practised in some parts of the country.The main reason for continuing this practise is not attributed to the mindset of the people, it is because of the financial situation of the families,who cannot afford to support a girl child.Such is the sad state of many girl children from poor families across India.

This is one of the best compositions by ARR.Once u listen to it,im sure u’ll get hooked on to it. the music is awesome and ARR’s voice is just like magic. The song is about loneliness,the lyrics have very well captured the thoughts of a person who misses his loved one.

I cant believe it was kareena kapoor … she has acted well…no over acting,probably this was the first time i liked her performance or may be this was the first time i noticed her as an actor…im not her fan and im not saying she outdid her performances in Chameli and Omkara…she would have got critical acclaim for those two movies but they were serious roles that she got to portray rather than the bubbly, peppy, more-like-what-suits-her ‘jab we met’ role.Shahid was not bad either but i feel its Kareena’s movie all the way…It’s just a simple love story but told very well.The music is also very catchy.Mauja mauja and Aao milo chalo are my favourites.
This movie shows what love can do to oneself.how a fun -loving, happy-go-lucky, taking-things-for-granted person is transformed to a more serious person(feeling like a loser) when her love-life is down to the dumps.And how Shahid’s love for Kareena transforms him to be successful in his business by believing in himself and ultimately wins his love.The roles are reversed in the second half.Shahid becomes the bubbly,peppy character and Kareena turns to Shahid’s moody character of the first half.Its a very sweet realistic movie.

Dhoni has got a new haircut

The Indian captain has got a crew cut done and im disappointed…
It could have been his personal choice but im sure most of his fans will be disappointed with his new look. Though it doesn’t look bad on him it does not create the same magic ,like before ,to his personality now. Dhoni is a brand name and it comes with his vibrant smile and long straightened hair.Now,only the smile remains. I wish he soon grows his hair like before.

Dhoni’s new haircut seems to have captured the media
and it has even managed to rule the headlines.A couple of days back it was Dhoni’s muse that was in the headlines.The television people were confused whether it was Deepika padukone or Priyanka chopra.The media even remarked that Dhoni’s new crew cut was a suggestion from Deepika.How absurd! This shows the height of stupidity.His haircut,his mustache or if he decides to grow a beard, its his personal
choice.People may like it or people may not like it.But this news making it to the headlines or conducting polls to decide if he has made the right decision about his hair or calling in live to discuss with a hair stlylist in the studio about what styles would suit Dhoni goes on to show the over-hype created by the media in our country.I wouldn’t be surprised if Dhoni’s house-maid or watchman are claimed celebrities by
these television channels.

Music of Saawariya….masha allah…

The best song of the album : Masha Allah
This song is a musical treat. It sounds like a dream.
Kunal ganjawalla has done a good work and you will feel the magic when he says ‘masha allah’.Its a reprieve to hear Shreya’s sweet voice in the middle,though its jus for a few seconds.All in all, its a good song.
Actually,i like Ranbir Kapoor’s expression when he says ‘masha allah’.

The title song ‘saawariya’ is a fast paced racy song. Shail hada sounds good and adds a kishore kumar feel to the song.

‘Jab se tere naina’ is my other favourite song sung by Shaan.Its a melodious feel-good song.The flute towards the end is awesome.

‘Thode badmash’ composed by the director himself sounds very ‘Ismail darbar’ to me.Its a very sweet song.The lyrics are cute. Yes u heard me right,its cute.Any girl who is or ever was in love would completely agree with it.

‘Daras bina nahin’ is a good song.I love the chorus. Sounds more like devdas music towards the end.

‘Yoon shabnami’ by Parthiv Gohil is also good.Music is nice.

‘Pari’,'chhabeela’ are only ok numbers,you would’nt want to listen to them more than once.

Overall Opinion: Undoubtedly sounds like a Sanjay leela bansali flick. Some songs are good others could have been better.
